Wide Range Proportioner is used to proportion foam concentrate to a water source with a wide flow and pressure range. Incoming water applies pressure to the concentrate in the membrane and carries the pressurized concentrate to the proportioning device. Proportioners have bronze and stainless steel bodies and internals made of 316 stainless steel and measurement orifice. Foam proportioners create a foam mixture to be directed to the distribution network pipes by contacting foam concentrate with water at the desired mixing percentage. These systems are ideal for foam spray systems in fire extinguishing systems. Proportioning devices mounted on the mixer body of the bladder tank maintain mixing accuracy over a wide flow rate range and adjust water and foam sections as the flow changes. There are 2 options among standard sizes and the flow range varies between 100 Lpm and 12,000 Lpm. Proportioners are generally calibrated at %1-%3-%6 ratios.
The fixed ratio proportioner is designed to maintain a constant ratio of foam concentrate in foam systems. The product is designed for use with low-viscosity foam agents and has a minimum and maximum flow rate ratio range of 1:6. This range can vary depending on the type of foam agent used and specific minimum or maximum flow rates on a given diameter basis. To ensure proper mixing, at least five pipe diameters of straight pipe are required before and after the mixer. The proportioner operates on the principle of reverse pressure and consistently delivers foam from the foam tank or pump to the foam installation through a specified hole diameter. The proportioner ratios the foam at %1-%3-%6 concentrations. Commonly used components include sprinklers, nozzles, monitors, foam makers, and foam chambers. Each fixed ratio proportioner must be accurately calibrated at the factory.
